The NATO Secretary General’s Annual Report gives an overview of NATO’s achievements in the last year and considers the challenges that lie ahead. Special mention is made of NATO’s visibly and deepening cooperation with partners – to the east and to the south – to build stability.
The Annual Report shows cuts in defence spending among European Allies and Canada have almost stopped.
NATO will remain an anchor of stability. Staying strong, open for dialogue, and working with our partners around the world,” said SG. Stoltenberg.
The Secretary General underscored that NATO continues to strengthen collective defence and deterrence.
Strong defence and deterrence have ensured peace and stability in Europe for almost 70 years. The political, economic and military bonds between Europe and North America remain as important as ever in the defence of our common values shared by the United States and Europe.
